The Port Arthur Public Library (PAPL) has again partnered up with the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA).  The VITA Program is offering free tax preparation services to help low, to moderate-income people, who cannot prepare their own tax returns, including the elderly, the disabled, and those having limited English proficiency.  These free tax preparation services will start on Saturday, February 7, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.  These services will continue every Thursday, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.  The last date for free tax preparations at the Port Arthur Public Library will be Saturday, April 11, 2026
