Can't find the item you want in your local catalog? Use our Interlibrary Loan (ILL) service to request materials from other libraries!

Steps to Sign Up for Interlibrary Loan Service.

1. Patron must have a Valid Port Arthur Library Card in Good Standing.

2. Patron Must Sign the Interlibrary Loan Agreement Form.

3. Loan Requests can be in person or online.

Anyone with a Port Arthur library card can use the Interlibrary Loan service except in the following cases:

  • There is a fine over $4.99 associated with your library card account and/or Interlibrary Loan account.
  • The library card is expired.
  • The card is a temporary card.
  • The maximum number of allowed ILL requests has been exceeded.
  • No Item on the New Release List can be requested.

Items owned by Port Arthur Public Library, even if they are for reference only, may not be requested using this service and any requests placed for such items will be cancelled. Please check the Library catalog before requesting materials through ILL.

ILL materials may take two to six weeks to arrive. Please bring your library card when you pick up ILL materials.

Texas Armadillo Network for Interlibrary Loan

Use the “Please Login” link in the upper right-hand corner of catalog to authenticate using your library barcode and PIN number.   Select Port Arthur Public Library from the drop down menu. Search the catalog and use the Request button initiate the request.

* Note from Library Staff, Patrons will have to be signed up for the new ILL ShareIt system. To sign up with this system, please fill out a new ILL Agreement Form and turn it into the Circulation Desk at the Front of the Library.
