Teacher Loans

Purpose

To help teachers supplement their personal and school library collections. 


What May Be Borrowed Under a Teacher Loan?

  • Materials relevant to the teacher's classroom
  • Up to 30 items
  • One copy per title
  • No seasonal books (Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentine's Day, etc.) because of the extended loan period

Eligibility

  • Teachers in Port Arthur public or private schools
  • Employment must be verified by presentation of a current faculty I.D. or by their Administrative Office during business hours (10:00 AM to 5:00 PM)
  • Substitute, preschool, day care center teachers, & teachers who live in Port Arthur but teach outside the City are not eligible

Fines & Fees

Late fines

  • Videos, DVDs, Cassettes, and CDs: $.50/day
  • Everything else: $.05/day

Lost item replacement fee

  • Cost of item + processing fee

Failure to return materials or pay fines will result in the account being reported to the teacher's employer.
